April is birthday season for us, and it’s always a treat to be able to celebrate with family away from the city.
Our little girl had a blast of a birthday weekend in Clark, Pampanga. Clark has always been a bit of a stopover and never the destination, which is a shame because not only has it a lot to offer (ahem, it’s the birthplace of sisig), but it is child and family friendly as well.

There are so many options available, for whatever you are into, or what you would like to do, and regardless of what your budget is. And of course, the beauty of Clark is its proximity to Manila. Even if we came all the way from Paranaque, for instance, making sure not to leave at around 6 am means getting to avoid the NLEX early morning weekend rush and arriving just in time to check in.
Welcome to The Mansion
The Mansion – no relation with the famous Baguio tourist spot of the same name – is one of the newer accommodations at the heart of Clark. For vacationing families like us who were also out to explore Clark’s top kiddie draws, it was a nice and cozy home base.

My mom booked the room, and had I known it was perfect for active types, I would have packed my trainers and taken advantage of their outdoor track, or rented one of their complimentary bikes, or I would have bought my yoga mat.

No matter, what I am happiest most about this hotel is how they made my kid’s birthday truly special. Even I have never experienced such a warm surprise.
She was on such a birthday high, she ended up opening our simple birthday presents right there and then, too.
Apart from the wonderful birthday surprise, The Mansion also holds outdoor movie screenings, complete with complimentary popcorn. They also have a nice outdoor pit for bonfires and roasting marshmallows. Needless to say, it’s a hit with the kids.
We were going to Aqua Planet and Dinosaurs Island, and the hotel is just perfectly situated, just a few kilometres away from both attractions.
Thank you for our daughter’s precious birthday memories, The Mansion!
The Mansion at The Villages is along Prince Balagtas Road, Clark, Pampanga 2009 (or you can simply type ‘The Mansion Clark” on Waze).
